About Lauri Jean
In the creative musings of Lauri Crowe, the artist explores what it means to be a woman – from the whimsical and joy-filled to the depths of pain whether self-induced or imposed by external sources. Through her art she seeks to be in, and capture, the unguarded moment.
Always invoking thought and conversation, this artist is self-made, self-taught and self-aware of both the bright and murky sides of her soul and the spiralling depths of her humanity.
Through her illustrations, Lauri Crowe creates her own personal mythos where fact meets fiction and nature is often birthed into the nurtured surreal. Her paintings are often dreamscapes from vivid lucid dreaming, or created to a cacophony of sound - Lauri's intuitive mind just never seems to sleep.
In the photography of Lauri Crowe, you will find the oddities of the natural world and human-made environment that excite or captivate her interest.
Although the artist spends much time enraptured within the twists of her own mind, she also enjoys the outdoors.
Lauri Crowe has a deep appreciation of the moments of peace the natural world and its inhabitants offer when she leaves the wilds of her own mind for that of the many gardens on her property in Howell, Michigan.
